To be honest, I was a bit clueless to what I should do for my second post, so I searched round various sites looking for inspiration. I went on to spotify and found my '90's vibez' (cringe) playlist. The 90's was probably one of my favourite era's (I was born in it) and a LOT of my favourite bands were around during the magical decade. I'm also a huge fan of britpop so I thought this post would 'satisfy' me a lot as well as (hopefully) some readers. You may also notice that I haven't included any Oasis songs, that's because I have never really liked them and I wouldn't have a very good chance of selecting my favourite song of theirs (just before I get hate for it). Here are some of my favourite tracks from the 90's.
Shine On // House of Love
I have to admit that the lead singer looks like he's close to death with how bored he looks but this track is extremely memorable with loads of small riffs and repetitive lyrics. I'd say that if you were a '90's child' with music loving parents and they never made you listen to this song, then where were they @??
Do you Remember the first Time // Pulp
Now, for a teenage girl who is obsessed with Jarvis Cocker, it may sound surprising that I used to hate Pulp as a child. My Mum was/is obsessed with them. She always used to play 'His 'N' Hers' on repeat in the car to which I would complain and moan and say that the singer sounds likes he's just run a marathon and in general - can't sing. Now that I am older, I adore Pulp and admittedly dance like Jarvis. The worst thing though was finding out how creepy Jarvis was (and still is, but I love him hugely) and how even creepier his lyrics were.
Soon // My Bloody Valentine
It is very hard to pick my favourite My Bloody Valentine song but I think this is a good contender. Bilinda Butcher is absolutely stunning and a really cool woman. I'm not too sure if their reunion was the best idea because even though I was very impressed with 'm b v', I thought that it just lacked something. I'm still not sure what that 'something' is but I'll get round to figuring it out someday.

For Tomorrow // Blur
Anyone who follows my twitter or tumblr, knows how much I love blur - A LOT. Perhaps even too much? Choosing a blur song to post was hORRIBLE but I came to a decision that 'For Tomorrow' was a good pick. If you are yet again a follower of me on social network sites then you know that I love Alex James (and Damon and Graham - sorry Dave) with my whole heart and I am very embarrassed by his cheese making. He's a grown man for goodness sake and he has a fridge which he keeps one block of cheese in. I found 'For Tomorrow' on vinyl at a record fair in the summer holidays and bought it immediately, knowing that Blur records are quite hard to get hold of. Most people know that I have two regrets in life - not going to the Peace Rough Trade in store when 'In Love' came out and not going to see Blur in Hyde Park last year. I don't even know why I didn't but I must have been half dead that day.
I Wanna Be Adored // The Stone Roses
Supposedly the most famous Stone Roses Track but I have to say, it is one of my favourites. The intro is so chilled and everything I really want to be in a song comes next - Ian Brown's ridiculous dancing, his strong mancunian accent and lots of guitar noises. A perfect mix.
Human Behaviour // Björk
Again, if you follow my twitter, you know that I love Björk enormously. I bought her debut ep on vinyl at at the same record fair where I got the Blur vinyl. I got £1 taken off it because I had a long conversation with the guy who owned the stall about various different artists. I discovered that I can actually talk to adults that day. This is one of my favourite Björk tracks and I adooore the video. I adore Björk anyway and that documentary she did with David Attenborough was amazing! I've never really payed real attention to him but now I respect the Attenborough. I really wanted to see 'Biophilia' live but the tickets were £80 pounds. :(
Lazy // Suede
Brett's voice in this one is soooooo good. He does sound slightly Bowie-ish here but then Bowie did copy someone else's singing style. This song title describes most teens right now and that's why I love it. Also, young Brett Anderson was an absolute beAST. I was very very happy about Suede's comeback.
Movin' on Up // Primal Scream
Damn I do love this song a lot. Gospel choirs complete songs and so does Bobby's dancing and spectacular shirt in this video. Primal Scream can lift my mood so quickly and I love them for that. It's a real 'just get up a do it' type of song. I guess the clue is in the name really. Also, getting siri to say Bobby Gillespie is extremely entertaining.
Let Down// Radiohead
I was trying to decide my favourite Radiohead song the other day and I discovered that it is an extremely hard thing to do. This isn't necessarily my favourite Radiohead song, I just like it a lot. Like most band's, my favourite Radiohead song changes at least every two weeks. This is going to sound right cheesy but Radiohead were the first band that made me think about music. My family are massive fans of Radiohead so they were the 'long journey in the car' sort of band and I am very glad that that was the way it was. Radiohead may not be my favourite band ever (but definitely in my top 10) but probably the best band ever.
