Where to begin with CURB, eh? The fact that they were greeted on their debut live show with masses of applause? The fact that their demo 'How are you now?' is the most played song in my iTunes library? Or the fact that those glasses look totally killer with that shirt. You can probably guess where these lads are from...obviously Birmingham. Where else could you find a band so small yet so good? Plus of course don't forget that charity shop look that seems to be working for everyone nowadays.
CURB comprises of Tom O Ryan (vocals and guitar), Lee Booker (bass), Sam Hunt (drums) and Joe Booth (guitar). When they aren't busy fucking up people's houses when they play house party gigs, or singing happy birthday to Georgie onstage, they'd reportedly love to fuck with the tv on. This of course being a line from an untitled song, which has become a sort of catch phrase between CURB fans.
Their only online material comes in the form of demo 'How Are You Now?', and what a good song this is. So good in fact, as mentioned before it is the most played song in my iTunes library. The tune kicks off with a pounding bassline, before O'Ryan asks; 'How are you now?'. The song then jolts into a brilliant swirling mess of fuzzy guitars, as the frontman sneers 'I wanna waste your time, just like you wasted mine'. Towards the end of the track, the saying is repeated over and over, like a revenging mantra, all the while it is also screamed in the background by another member.
(I wasn't lying when I said it was my most played song)
So if you haven't already, stick some CURB on. Turn it up loud. Fuck with the TV on. Waste somebodies time. I don't care what you do as long as you're listening to this bloody song (which can be played just below here).
